Kitty and the Brush.

Kitty hates when we brush her. Since she's so furry, we try to brush her weekly, but she hates it so much that she attacks the brush each time it gets near her. We have two kinds of brushes-- the Furminator, and just a regular cat brush. Kitty hates the Furminator. She growls and claws at us when we try to brush her with it.

I read that cats just love the Furminator, and that in some cases, they love it so much that they line up to be brushed with it. NOT the case in our household. The "brush" is really like a razor, I think. It just pulls out so much hair that it's hard to believe that it isn't painful. Her hair literally comes out in huge chunks, and it doesn't stop. It also causes a lot of static electricity, which makes her even angrier.

The Furminator reminds me of thinning shears that they use at the hair salon. I'm not sure what it's doing, but as long as you keep using it, hair just comes off in huge piles. It's nearly impossible to get a photo of kitty as she's attacking when we're using the evil Furminator, but we have a few pictures of her resisting the other brush. If we didn't brush her, she sure would be nappy.
